The name Vumû Bàdo Mîze is derived from the Wareneese language, as Vumû Bàdo Mîze was founded by Zhihl Shèqthêv, who was culturaly Wareneese.

Climate

Overview

Vumû Bàdo Mîze was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1092, by Zhihl Shèqthêv. The establishment of Vumû Bàdo Mîze suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Vumû Bàdo Mîze was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Vumû Bàdo Mîze is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Vumû Bàdo Mîze is buildings are located arround a single narrow cobblestone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Vumû Bàdo Mîze's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Vumû Bàdo Mîze has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Vumû Bàdo Mîze ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. On top of this is an unmistakable feeling that Vumû Bàdo Mîze is in this condition because there is something terribly wrong with the town. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Vumû Bàdo Mîze was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Vumû Bàdo Mîze. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Vumû Bàdo Mîze lost 243 people, 283 livestock, and 30 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 218, when members of Vumû Bàdo Mîze's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by the enemy forces had far more numbers than estimated. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Vumû Bàdo Mîze's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Vumû Bàdo Mîze's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
